Holiday Carriage Rides in Marietta

Enjoy the beauty of Christmas in Marietta while traveling in a horse drawn carriage. Lancaster Recumbent and McCleary’s Public House are pleased to sponsor carriage rides from Benchfield Farms during the Marietta Candlelight Tour on Sunday, December 5, 11am to 7pm. Carriage rides will follow a one mile route through ‘downtown’ Marietta (15-20 minutes ride). Rides are $25 per carriage if pre-booked by 12/4 or $30 day of the event; all proceeds benefit Marietta Restoration Associates and the IM ABLE Foundation. Carriages comfortably accommodate 1-4 people (plus a small child or two). Carriage pick-up and drop-off is at Lancaster Recumbent (103 W Market St., Marietta). Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time.

Questions & Answers

When will the carriage rides be offered? Benchfield Farms will conduct carriage rides during the Marietta Candlelight Tour on Sunday, December 5, from 11am to 7pm.

How do I book a carriage ride? To reserve a ride, please contact Traci at Benchfield Farms – Phone: 717-448-8464, Email: benchfieldfarms@comcast.net.

Do I have to book an appointment? There are limited rides available on the day of the event so we highly recommend pre-booking a time. Walk-ups on the day of the event will be scheduled in between pre-bookings on a first come, first serve basis. 

How much do the rides cost? One carriage is $25 if pre-booked prior by 12/4 or $30 day of the event. Lancaster Recumbent and McCleary’s Public House are sponsoring this event so that all proceeds generated by the rides will be donated to Marietta Restoration Associates and the IM ABLE Foundation. 

How many people can go on a carriage ride at a time? The carriage can comfortably accommodate 1 – 4 people (plus a small child or two).

How long is the carriage ride and where does it go? The carriage ride route is a mile long and will last about 15-20 minutes. It starts at Lancaster Recumbent on W Market St, down Waterford Ave, right on Front Street, up Perry St, and back to Lancaster Recumbent.

Where do I go to pick up the carriage? The carriage ride starts and ends at Lancaster Recumbent – 103 W. Market Street, Marietta, PA 17547. We recommend you arrive in front of the shop ~5 minutes before your scheduled time. 

What if I need to cancel? Please contact Traci at Benchfield Farms:

What if it rains or snows? Carriage rides are rain (snow) or shine. Please dress appropriately.

What COVID precautions are in place? Benchfield Farms is committed to providing a safe and comfortable ride. They have COVID protocols in place to sanitize surfaces in between every ride and the carriage is open to the air for adequate ventilation.
