Holiday Carriage Rides in Marietta

$30 – $35Lancaster Recumbent and McCleary’s Public House are pleased to sponsor carriage rides from Benchfield Farms during the Marietta Candlelight Tour on Sunday, December 1, 12pm to 7pm. Carriage rides will meander through ‘downtown’ Marietta (~15 minute ride) where you can enjoy historic homes and holiday decorations from the comfort of your private carriage. Rides are $30 per carriage if pre-booked before 12/1 or $35 same day walk-up (subject to availability); there is a $3 fee for any credit card transactions. All proceeds benefit Marietta Community House and the IM ABLE Foundation. Pre-booking is recommendation as slots fill up fast! Carriages comfortably accommodate 1-4 people (plus a small child or two). Carriage pick-up and drop-off is at Lancaster Recumbent (103 W Market St., Marietta). Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled time.

When will the carriage rides be offered? Benchfield Farms will conduct carriage rides during the Marietta Candlelight Tour on Sunday, December 1, from 12pm to 7pm.

Do I have to book an appointment? There are limited rides available on the day of the event so we highly recommend pre-booking a time plus you’ll save $5 by pre-booking ($30 for pre-book vs. $35 same day). Walk-ups on the day of the event will be scheduled in between pre-bookings on a first come, first serve basis.
How much do the rides cost? One carriage is $30 if pre-booked prior by 12/1 or $35 day of the event. Please note there is a $3 fee for credit card transactions with Benchfield Farms. Lancaster Recumbent and McCleary’s Public House are sponsoring this event so that all proceeds generated by the rides will be donated to Marietta Community House and the IM ABLE Foundation.
How many people can go on a carriage ride at a time? The carriage can comfortably accommodate 1 – 4 adults (plus a small child or two).
How long is the carriage ride and where does it go? The carriage ride route is 15-20 minutes and will go along portions of Front and Market Streets in ‘downtown’ Marietta. Below is a sample route for 2024; this is subject to change based on traffic and weather.
Where do I go to pick up the carriage? The carriage ride starts and ends at Lancaster Recumbent – 103 W. Market Street, Marietta, PA 17547. We recommend you arrive in front of the shop ~5 minutes before your scheduled time.
